Information on the collection and processing of your personal data
In the following statement, trivago N.V. (hereafter, “trivago”, “we” and “us”) provides information about the processing of personal data collected though this survey.

3. What types of personal data do we use?
We will collect and process the following personal data: (i.) Personal identifying information such as a generic unique identifier, generated only for this survey, and email address; (ii.) Personal details such as your age, gender, country, and year of birth; and (iii.) Survey data such as your replies and date, time of the completion of the survey and other electronic identification data.
4. What do we use your personal data for? On which legal basis?
By participating to this survey, you consent to the collection and processing, by trivago, of your personal data for the purposes of (i.) conducting the survey, (ii.) gathering insights on users’ needs and (iii.) developing and improving our services offer. You can withdraw your consent at any time - this withdrawal would lead to the deletion of your personal identifying information and to the anonymisation of your personal data.
5. Who are the recipients of the personal data?
Your survey responses and data are captured and stored via the Qualtrics survey platform for trivago’s research. Your personal data will be stored in the European Union. Once aggregated and anonymized, your responses to the survey may be shared with third-party service providers to help us generate insights regarding users’ needs which will be used for the sole purpose of developing and improving trivago’s products.
6. When will we delete your personal data?
We will retain your personal data for the period of the survey, plus an additional period of 30 days after the survey, at the end of which we will anonymize your personal data.
7. Which data protection rights do you have?
You have the following rights with respect to your personal data:
a. General rights. You have the right to information, access, correction, deletion, restriction of processing, objection to processing, and data portability. The processing being based on your consent, you have the right to revoke it at any time.
b. Right to complain to a supervisory authority. You have the right to complain to a relevant data protection supervisory authority about our processing of your personal data.
